RCMS @ Grundy County
Corn Festival Parade
Sunday,
September 28th
This is the itinerary for the Grundy County Corn Festival
this Sunday September 28th. I am very excited to see the kids march again, and
to improve upon our last performance! We
need parent volunteers to help out with last minute uniform issues and passing
out water on Sunday. We had a lot of volunteers last time, which was
amazing! Please look over this itinerary for the day. If you have questions or
can help out with the parade, you can contact me at michael.klos@rc255.net or call me at 815-458-2868
Ext. 3217. AND WEAR YOUR BLACK AND
GOLD!!!
1:00PM- Students arrive at middle school
PROMPTLY
-Parents help with loading busses, water (we will change
into our uniforms at the middle school before we leave, different from Dwight!)
-Uniform, shoes, TALL black socks, etc all need to be on
when we leave for Morris (NO JEANS UNDER THE BIB PANTS!!)
-Students going home with parents must bring uniform bag and
hat box on bus with you
-Instruments stay in cases until we are close to Morris
(large instruments will be loaded under the busses)
1:50PM- Bus leaves for Corn Fest Parade
2:30PM- Bus arrives in Morris
*The parade begins at 2PM, but we will
not step off until around 3PM. We will leave to come back to RCMS as soon as we
are done marching, NOT WHEN THE PARADE IS OVER. Please keep this in mind if you
come to watch the parade!
*Once the parade is done, we will walk
back to the buses together, which will be parked at Morris High School. You
must check out with me @ MHS before you leave if you are going home with
parents (uniform stays on the bus, instrument goes home with you and comes back
on Monday)
Approx 5:00PM- Return to RCMS! (students will call parents/guardians
on the way home since this is an approximate return time. I used my best
judgment to determine when we will get home, but it can always change the day
of depending on delays/weather)
BAND UNIFORM: Jacket,
black uniform pants, TALL black socks, black marching shoes, hat, band t-shirt
on underneath, no nail polish or makeup!
COLORGUARD: Uniform,
black socks, black shoes, black pants, no nail polish or makeup!
Student Sign-Out
Any students who will be leaving with
their parents/guardians after the parade must check out with me first before
leaving at Morris High School. Your parent/legal guardian must sign-out with me
as well so I know for sure you are safely getting home. Please be at Morris
High School when our band is done marching, not at the end of the parade. We
will not wait until the end of the parade to travel back to RCMS. Each student
must walk back to the bus to change out of their uniform after the parade, then
they are free to leave with their parents. Uniforms do not go home with you
after the parade, they stay on the bus. YOU MUST BRING YOUR UNIFORM BAG AND HAT
BOX ON THE BUS WITH YOU TO MORRIS IF YOU ARE LEAVING WITH YOUR PARENTS!!! You
are responsible for getting your instrument home and back to school on Monday. NO STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO LEAVE UNLESS I
TALK YOUR PARENTS AHEAD OF TIME!!!
